I'm disappointed that they think machine guns are some particularly modern thing that would not have been around during prohibition when they defined the WWI battlefields with such tragic consequences for the Lost Generation. Love this show, always look forward to it, adore how these people talk about music, but machine guns destroyed a generation of Europeans and inaugurated the grim first half of the 20th century well before the emergence of bootlegging gangsters.

I listened to MGKs last album after Jan said on the podcast that he liked it. (Though it's probably actually this one?). And now that I know this exists, I suppose I'll have to try this one out too haha

I greatly enjoy how most of these episodes end up being thoughtful discussions on music and larger cultural trends. This album was basically a non-entity, and the group got almost 90 minutes of good talk out of it. Lucie's thesis on Millennials especially killed me. Also, A+ ending.
