Getting to the most important details first: Vinny's Wreck-gar and junkion are KFC (Keith's Fantasy Club) Crash Hog and Dumpyard, which are unofficial but not knock offs, as Takara didn't design them at all.

Meanwhile, Jeff's Takasa Bluestreak is 100% knockoff as it's a straight copy of the official. TF KOs have been increasing in quality and becoming less deceptive and more niche forming in the last few years, though.

Oh, and was a fun bonus stream after the Transformers talk.

I wish the whole gang would get together like this maybe once a month. I know it's a scheduling nightmare, but it really brings me back to the old days.

@lumbermancer: Hey! Someone who knows a lot about the game! I saw that there are buttons to zero in the guns... But what does that mean exactly? I don't know much about guns and I have very little understanding of where the bullets will travel in relation to what my scope says- like all those hash marks and shit on the scope might as well be gibberish to me even though I understand that to a person who knows what they mean you can try to do shit like hit moving targets or hit a target at extreme ranges.

So, to my understanding if I have an AK with a 3x scope on it and it is zeroed at 100m, the bullet will hit a target in the middle of the scope at 100m?

Also which guns can be zeroed in? I assume a pistol can't be zeroed in, but I'm curious about a crossbow. A man killed me with a crossbow last night and I had to admit that shit was pretty cool even though I lost.

Would love to see them all go in as single players at once and see how it goes, could be fun to see who comes out on top. Open-world Vinny is not prepared for the harshness of PUBG.

I've missed this kind of content! The old, core GB team playing a multiplayer game together. Not the crew's fault, of course, because MP games that make for good viewing don't come along very often. Brilliant, and I can't wait for more.

@shaggydude: You have it right. Basically, it's up to you to estimate your distance to the enemy (I usually go by estimated football fields for obvious reasons)...so if you spot a guy that you think is about two football fields away, you'd zero your gun to 200m and, if you estimated correctly, you'd score direct hits by lining up the center of your crosshair directly on top of their character model.

Alternatively, if you see a guy at what you estimate to be 200m away but still have your gun at the default zeroing distance (100m), you can simply aim a head-height or two above the character model to compensate and score a hit that way. This is useful if you only have a second or two to react and don't have the time to take your eye off the enemy to change your zeroing distance. In some games, if you're taking a series of shots like this at very long range, you can use the tick-marks lower on the sight to correct your fire shot-by-shot, but...honestly...don't overthink it. In PUBG, I just go by feel, slightly moving my aim up or down based on where I see my shots landing.

Part of what I always loved about the Battlefield series is that when you tag objectives, it'll display the distance to the objective (in meters) indefinitely. So if you tag something as a sniper and see '512m' floating above it, all you need to do is click the zeroing distance to '500m' and rest easy knowing that you no longer need to aim 10 feet above your target to score a hit. I'd get kills from a half-mile away doing this, and I'm a terrible shot. It's simply a matter of lining up the numbers. :P

I watched the quick look of this and this stream and then today I caught a few hours of the penny arcade stream showing this game. All the times I watched them play I Thought "I want to play this" and all the time sI watched them play I also thought "no, I don't want to play this".

I have a feeling there is going to be rampant cheating/hacking and just tomfoolery that will ruin the game. I want them to have more variety in maps and would really like to see some themed maps (snow, fall varieties). There is something here but it really seems like it might be better to watch it from afar.

Remember when The Division was announced and all the hokey but interesting tactical squad chatter was touted? This seems to be one of the first games to nail that, minus the hokey.

I need more of this from the GB crew while I wait for the PS4 version.

This is probably up there on my favorite GiantBomb videos of all time list. Would LOVE to see more of this game; I love Battle Royale so much.

A lot of people seem to go for buildings and what not but It seems if you use the environment more, than your chances of surviving are much greater. Like pick up only the camo stuff and prone down in an area, seems to be almost impossible for someone to see you in this.

I know this is all common sense to anyone but this game seems way more tactical than most people realize.

Vinny your mic levels are painful :(

It's all give or take. Hiding in the environment can keep you hidden for a good amount of time, but you are incredibly exposed. If you shoot (or even people in your area shoot), then people will start scanning the environment and can expose you.

Being in a house gives you assured cover and you know the enemy can only come in from certain areas. Of course, depending on the house, you can be exposed from windows from snipers and explosives. It's honestly much easier to hold a house in singles or duo's. I played in a squad of 3 earlier. We held a 2nd story floor until a squad of 4 found us. They had 2 guys on the ground that unloaded on the windows and threw in grenades while the other two rushed us from the stairs. It completely overwhelmed us. With that said, I've held a house against a squad of 3 that had no coordination.

Vinny getting killed while looking at the Decia and what followed was one of the best things I've seen on GB. I always knew James May's obsession would be the death of someone, would never have thought it be Vinny.

Might have to shell out on this, after all... I've had exactly one battle royale experience before, with the Arma 3 mod. First and only time playing, about two years ago, I ended up winning with nothing more to my name than a revolver and apparently more patience than anyone else on the server. The area made it down to its smallest size (which is, what, 10-20 meters across?) in the middle of a dense forest, with four players left. Two of them quickly stumbled into each other and duked it out, which I observed, so I knew one of the remaining players was to my left, near the west edge of the circle. I was prone behind a tree on the extreme south edge, legs probably out of bounds, but the game didn't care. I had no idea where the last guy was.

I call it patience, but really, I was too terrified to make a move. I sat there for what felt like 15 minutes without even touching the keyboard, just scanning around and listening for movement. Finally, the guy to my left grew impatient and started moving out of cover, toward me, after which he quickly got shot. Now I knew it was just me and one more guy, and he was somewhere to my right, with line of sight across the center of the circle. I don't remember what I pulled, I think I must have had a smoke grenade or a glow stick or something else I could throw to draw his attention in the wrong direction, and then I crawled, as slow as that game allows, along the very edge of the ring, until I made it right next to him and ended it with the first and only shot I fired in the entire round.

Never touched the game since. That was too stressful. And I will never be able to match that luck. But I might have to give this game a go...

Vinny's laugh, "you motherfucker", and everything else from 1:19:10-1:20:10 will forever be one of my favorite things.

Coming back to the start of Murder Island. This is gonna be a great trip.
